Group project and research contribution

I work with Dr Devi Karolita and Dr Jialong Li, Assistant Professor at Waseda University, to connect the student group project with our CRAFTER research on structured human-AI collaboration in software engineering.

  • Students use interview evidence with CRAFTER and general-purpose generative AI to create, review, and refine software-engineering artefacts.
  • Persona and requirements work is one practical case within the broader AI-supported process.
  • I help design the project tasks, teaching materials, surveys, comparison activities, and evaluation approach.
  • We study student feedback and AI interaction records to understand where structured support helps or creates difficulty.

CRAFTER project

CRAFTER studies how structured human-AI interaction can support evidence-grounded software-engineering and requirements artefacts.

The course project provides an authentic setting for comparing structured and general-purpose AI, studying how students work with AI, and improving the approach.

🧩 Group project and research contribution

I work with Dr Devi Karolita and Dr Jialong Li, Assistant Professor at Waseda University, to integrate structured human–AI collaboration across an evidence-grounded software engineering group project. The course is an authentic setting for our CRAFTER research, which examines how AI can support software-engineering work without separating generated artefacts from their underlying evidence.

  • Helped design the group-project tasks and supporting teaching materials.
  • Developed activities in which students use interview evidence with CRAFTER and general-purpose generative AI to create, review, and refine software-engineering artefacts.
  • Used persona and requirements artefact creation as a practical case within a broader AI-supported process.
  • Helped prepare pre- and post-course surveys, controlled comparison tasks, reflective questions, and the evaluation approach.
  • Contributed to analysing student feedback and AI interaction histories, including prompting, refinement, evidence use, and cognitive load.

CRAFTER investigates structured human–AI interaction for evidence-grounded software-engineering and requirements artefacts. Persona creation is an important course activity and motivating case, but the project has a broader focus on how people work with AI throughout artefact creation, refinement, and evaluation. The course project enables us to compare structured and general-purpose AI, study students’ interaction processes, and use the findings to improve both the teaching design and the research framework.
