🎓 Project summary
VRelovate (Virtual Reality Editor Leveraging Opportunity Tech Lab’s Virtual Assets for Training and Education) is a VR editor developed by Opportunity Tech Lab (OTL) that has reached the proof‐of‐concept stage. To date, it has supported a nearly $1,000,000 Department of Social Services grant and produced two education‐focused VR experiences: inclusive entrepreneurship and community sport safety training. This grant requests the fund to upgrade equipment needed to deliver state‐of‐the‐art, accessible demonstrations in the lab and portable showcases off‐site for prospective research partners and funders. The project will strengthen OTL’s capacity to initiate, convert, and retain external engagements. Recent executive‐level demonstrations underscored the importance of a polished, hands-on co‐design environment that enables stakeholders to envision collaborative research opportunities. The upgrade will support systematic partnership development, including co‐design workshops, collaborative research planning sessions, and joint proposal development that convert initial interest into sustained collaborations and major funding applications.
